Completing a trifecta of coffee talent from one remarkable family, we are thrilled to introduce Anjelica Rojas. The sister of Jorge Rojas and wife of Yieson Vargas, Anjelica is a formidable producer in her own right, stewarding the 5-hectare Finca La Gloria. Located at a breathtaking 2000 meters in Planadas, her farm is managed entirely organically, a decision she made to protect the health of the soil, the environment, and her family.

This Yellow Bourbon microlot is a testament to her skill as a producer, processed using a 62-hour Anaerobic Washed fermentation to create a cup of stunning clarity and elegance. Anjelica’s motivation is to produce a “differentiated coffee” that improves her family's quality of life. It is a privilege to share this coffee and welcome Anjelica, a cornerstone of this incredible coffee family, to the Dukes lineup this season.

In the high mountains of Planadas, Tolima, Anjelica Rojas is a formidable producer who stands at the very heart of a remarkable coffee family. As the sister of Jorge Rojas and the wife of Yieson Vargas, she is a cornerstone of their shared commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. On her own 5-hectare farm, La Gloria, situated at a breathtaking 2000 meters above sea level, Anjelica cultivates coffee with a philosophy rooted in the well-being of the land and her family.

The decision to farm organically was a pivotal moment for La Gloria. It was a choice driven by a holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of their environment. "We decided to work organically a few years ago upon understanding the importance of protecting the health of the soil, the environment, and our families," Anjelica explains. This motivation to produce a "cleaner and more sustainable coffee" has shaped every aspect of her agricultural practice. The farm is managed using only organic fertilizers, fostering a rich, fertile soil that is teeming with life and has excellent natural drainage.

For Anjelica, this approach extends far beyond the soil itself. She believes that true quality is inseparable from a thriving ecosystem. "For us, it is fundamental to conserve the forests and water sources," she says. "We know that a high-quality coffee is born in a healthy environment, so we protect biodiversity and avoid the use of chemicals." This commitment is reflected in the vibrant life at La Gloria, which is home to native birds, squirrels, and a diverse range of pollinating insects, all flourishing within the Andean forest.

This deep respect for nature is paired with a meticulous focus on processing. This Yellow Bourbon lot, prepared as an Anaerobic Washed coffee with a 62-hour fermentation, is a clear expression of her skill. In every cup, you can taste the results of her dedication.
