  • We are pleased to introduce our first espresso offering from producer Oswaldo Acevedo and the famed Hacienda El Roble farm. Cultivated organically and picked in the main crop in January 2021, this Washed Caturra is a fantastic showcase of Northern Colombia’s ability to produce sweet, rich and full-bodied coffees – particularly in a sustainable and ecological manner.

It is no exaggeration to call Hacienda El Roble an idyllic coffee garden. Rolling hills with more level terrain and an abundance of well-spaced, mature shade trees provide a distinctly “Northern” coffee growing environment, in contrast to the Southern region’s mountainous elevations and dense forest.

Over the past decade, El Roble has become renowned internationally for their impressive (and delicious!) selection of arabica varieties which they cultivate and steward.

This coffee has such great mouthfeel and honey sweetness, chase that tactility and richness over acidity when dialling in.

This recipe was developed on a La Marzoco Linea PB, using a Anfim SPII+ grinder. We encourage you to play around to meet your personal tastes and equipment setup.

  • It is no exaggeration to call Hacienda El Roble an idyllic coffee garden. Rolling hills with more level terrain and an abundance of well-spaced, mature shade trees – including many eucalypts – provide a distinctly “Northern” coffee growing environment, which stands in contrast to the Southern region’s dramatic mountainside elevations and dense forest.

Over the past decade, El Roble has become renowned internationally for their impressive (and delicious!) selection of arabica varieties which they cultivate and steward. Alongside Caturra, Sr. Acevedo also grows Bourbon, Typica, Castillo Rosario, Colombia, Cenicafe 1, Tabi, Gesha, HR6, Wush Wush and Mokka varieties – all of which is USDA and JAS Organic Certified.

We are thrilled to be partnering with Oswaldo Acevedo and Hacienda El Roble, and featuring a range of his coffees over the coming season for both espresso and filter brewing.
