    The Gatabo township and surrounding area have a unique law which requires all farmers to only sell cherries to a local mill. Owner Salum Ramadhan established the Shembati washing station, located in hills of the Kayanza Province, to encourage the local farmers of the Gatabo region to produce and sell their high quality cherries. Salum operates three other washing stations in Kayanza, and all four reflect his passion for coffee and his commitment to the community where he was born and raised.

    Every lot delivered is systematically separated for full traceability, and strictly hand sorted or floated for damaged and unripe cherries. This lot has been processed naturally and is dried in small quantities on raised beds and turned regularly to avoid over fermentation.
