    COCARIVE Auction Winner #3

Sítio Toca, alongside Sítio Lagoa, is owned and run by José Euripedes de Siqueira and his wife, Catarina Aparecida Siqueira. Both José and Catarina grew up amongst tobacco and coffee production and, today, coffee is the main source of income for their family. With the help of their three children, and a growing passion for specialty coffee, their operation is continuing to yield high quality coffee, harvest after harvest.

Located in the municipality of Conceição das Pedras, in the south of Minas Gerais, Sítio Toca benefits from fertile soil, well defined seasons and altitudes that provide the perfect environment for growing coffee in Brazil. Coffee is harvested manually by hand, by the family, and sun-dried in the courtyards and greenhouses located on site.  To guarantee even drying, all coffee is finished in mechanical dryers.

The dried coffee is stored at COCARIVE (Cooperativa Regional dos Cafeicultores do Vale do Rio Verde), which supports cooperative members in all stages of production and education.
